What kind of events do you do?

 

I have performed at a wide variety of events and am always open to new experiences. In the past I've played for wedding receptions, wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, dinners, corporate events, birthdays, engagement  parties, anniversary parties, fundraisers, grand openings, bridal showers and holiday parties.

What style of music do you play?

 

I play many styles of music including classical, jazz and pop. For wedding ceremonies, I'm happy to play traditional or non traditional music of your choice (see my blog for tips on choosing ceremony music!) For cocktail hours and receptions, I provide jazz style music to create a classy, lounge-like atmosphere. I can accommodate requests for specific pieces if they are given prior to the event day.

Does my venue have to have a piano? Does it have to be tuned?

 

No, the venue does not need to have it's own piano as I can provide my own portable digital piano and amplification if needed. If the venue does have a piano on site, my preference is to use what is already there. It does not need to be tuned specifically for your event, however it should be well maintained and in good condition. The venue should be having the piano tuned twice a year by a registered piano technician.

How far do you travel?

 

I am based in downtown Toronto, Ontario. Most of my engagements are within the GTA, however, I am open to travelling to the surrounding communities of southern Ontario and beyond!

Can you perform outside?

 

Yes my setup is flexible indoors and outdoors. All I require for an outdoor setup is a relatively flat surface to set up on as well as shelter from the elements. I can provide all of my own equipment at no extra charge.

Do you play with other musicians?

 

I have collaborated with many talented musicians and am happy to arrange an ensemble performance. If you are a musician looking for a pianist for your ensemble, gig, audition or recording project, please don't hesitate to contact me with details.

How much? What is your pricing structure?

 

Quotes for my performances start at $598+HST. For a quote specific to your event, please fill out the form on my contact page. I also can help you connect with other musicians I'm mentoring that are at a lower cost so regardless of budget, please do reach out!

How do you accept payment? 

 

E-transfers are the preferred method of payment, though I can also take payment through PayPal and by cash or cheque.

How do I book? Do you require a deposit? What is your cancellation policy?

 

If you are interested in booking, please fill out the form located on my contact page. This will send me a notification right away with all of the details you submit. If you would like to move forward after the quote is given, I will send a brief one page contract outlining our arrangement. I consider a client booked once the contract has been signed and I have received a non-refundable 50% deposit. The booking process can be done online or in person.

 

The remaining 50% owing is due the day of the event.

Cancellation policy: In the event that my services are no longer required after booking, the remaining 50% would not be payable.

Do you offer an in-person consultation?

 

I offer a free, no obligation consultation to discuss any questions that you may have. This can be done over zoom or on the phone.

Do you teach piano lessons?

 

I have been teaching piano and music theory lessons since 2006 in my student's homes, in studios in Winnipeg and Toronto and at the University of Manitoba. Currently I offer in home service to families in the Toronto area. More information and a registration form can be found on my teaching page.
